I notice that I had made only 2 errors in Quants (2nd and 21st question) and got only 80. I have had greater number of errors (varied across the entire question set) and still have obtained more than 80 during official mocks 1~6. This is completely baffling.

I did observe that the quant questions were a bit easier than my mock test questions (official mock).

Can anyone offer an insight into the same and offer possible explanation?
Did you edit any answers to correct? Missing a question the first time you see it dings your score even if you edit it to correct because it causes a decrease in the difficulty of subsequent questions.

In the verbal section, I faced 14 CRs, which was surprising, since I have never faced more than 10 or 11 CR questions during the 6 mocks.
Wow. That's a lot of CR questions. Many people would be glad to see that many CR questions and only 9 RC questions.

Nope, I didn't edit any answers in any of the three sections!
Yes, I was glad to see a lot more CRs, and got a 100th percentile in CRs. However, I found the RCs to be tougher than ususal.

So, the only reasonable explanation is that question 2 was relatively easy. So, by missing it, you reduced the difficutly of much of the Quant section and thus scored lower than you otherwise would have.

Even so, the scoring seems odd. Two missed questions is still just TWO MISSED QUESTIONS. It's a little bizarre that missing two questions, even two relatively easy questions, would ding your score by 10 points.

Nice!

Interesting. I wonder how the test can work with such a large range in the number of CR and RC questions that can appear on it.
