I haven't tried but that sounds like a good start. Which one would you recommend?

I had Kaplans on demand, and its really really good!!! But, most people prefer TTP or magoosh more. TTP gives a free 5day trial, I'd suggest trying that out first before buying anything. Not sure if other sites give a trial period but both magoosh and kaplan gives a free mock test

I studied with Kaplan books too and I think this is a solid product but for books most people prefer Manhattan these days.

I would say however that having one set of materials is important but you don’t want to study using two or three different sources so pick one and stick to it. Also it’s not so much about what materials you use but how much you’re able to learn because a lot of these courses are very Comprehensive and it’s not the courses fault if someone cannot remember something. It could be the problem of the course because you hated it or you really did not like the interface or it was overwhelming. But I want you to realize that 80% of your success depends on you studying. No matter the materials, if you don’t retain and apply the information you won’t perform.

nafuzzz Ok I'm going to look into each of those and use the free 5 day trial first to determine if it is the right program for me. What did you like about Kaplan on demand?

bb Thank you, I think that you're right in regards of having one study source and I will use that strategy when I choose from the above recommendations. I had the Manhattan book and quant review, but everything was so algebraic regarding the answer explanations instead of giving logical reasoning. Everything was explained in terms of x and y instead of for example new cost - old cost / old cost etc. These are the more of the explanations i am looking for.

Hi, sorry for the late reply, thats a great idea btw. What I liked about kaplan is than they made it very easy for me to understand the same concepts you're struggling with right now. They started from complete scratch which helped me alot. I haven't used any of the other alternatives, so can't really say how it compares. I think they do free classes every once in a while you can check those out. Oh, and also magoosh also gives a free one week trial I think

Update:

I only got 7 quant questions wrong and got 26th percentile! How is that possible?

I got 14/21 in quant (26th)
I got 13/21 in English (23rd)
8/20 DI (31st)

I was getting 7 right on quant in the mocks and getting 29th percentile. What gives??

Hey Needa, how have you been? I'm sorry I didn't check my notifications so I didn't see your post before. How is your preparation going?
As for your question, percentiles also depend on question difficulty and not how many you got correct. Even with 14/21 correct, if you missed harder questions or ig took too long on easy ones (not sure about this one), it lowers your percentile. GMAT is adaptive, so getting easier questions right has less impact on your score. Also, apparently getting the first couple questions right matters alot too.

Hey Nafuzzz, prep is going good I'm on day 19 of the 1 month study prep on magoosh. I've been keeping an open mind to starting from scratch in regards to learning the material. How about you? How's your study going? I hope time per question isn't taken into account haha. But, I'll definitely try to nail the first few questions on my next exam. I got the first one wrong on the gmat last month :/

I'm glad to hear that. As for me, I haven't been able to prep properly for weeks due to some personal stuff. Hoping to resume my studies soon! Btw on October 31st, all the tests on this website will be free due to Halloween. Are you planning to give a mock that day? I'm gonna give it a shot
