Sadly I didn't. Even if I did, there is no point of it. Do you have any suggestions?

The following are considered policy violations. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list, and there may be other actions that are considered policy violations:
  • Having someone else take the test for you and/or assist you during the test
  • Taking the test for someone else
  • Intentionally providing false information to the test administrator
  • Memorizing test questions
  • Sharing test questions and/or answers with others
  • Procuring or accessing test questions
  • Accessing notes during thetest administration
  • Removing the noteboards from the testing room [GMAT exam delivered at a test center]
  • Failing to return the noteboards to the test administrator after the exam [GMAT exam delivered at a test center]
  • Writing on any surface other than the provided digital whiteboard or an approved physical whiteboard [GMAT exam delivered online]
  • If an approved physical whiteboard is used, failure to demonstrate you have fully erased both sides of your whiteboard when prompted to do so [GMAT exam delivered online]

Your episode is unfortunate and, as a consequence, carries a severe penalty. However, it was hard for me to figure out a ban for THREE years for just a mic issue.

The suggestion is to write an email at [email protected]

Not so many options more than that.

The If GMAC Cancels Your Score page on the MBA website may be helpful to check out. In your response, consider including/mentioning that the "invigilator told me to find another laptop. I immediately changed my PC, and attempted to give the exam again."

This happened with a friend of mine too!

Is there any insight into why this is happening?

Unfortunatly, there is not much you can do. Regarding how to move forward, have you considered taking the GRE?

I think you can request a review they’ll keep in mind that in this unfortunate situation, the judge and the ex executioner are the same people 😬

So you want to be polite and respectful because if you come out really aggressive, they will just shut you down. You want to be reasonable and I feel the best approaches to make them feel unprofessional rather than take a period on you or rather than you going aggressive. I would also provide as much evidence and detail details as you can without emotions and have someone neutral review it. I know it’s a very annoying and tragic situation but if you want to succeed, you have to take the emotions out, as much as possible.

PS. If that doesn’t work, some people have pursued legal action and supposedly succeeded but that’s only one example that I have heard of. It’s pretty extreme and likely costly and likely lengthy.

If you don’t have time to pursue some of these lengthy options, I think the most practical path would be to switch to the GRE. Your skills should be very portable.

PS. I’m really not sure why they would have such a severe measure.

Thank you very much for your support. I will try to reason with them over mail/call in a calm manner and try to sort this issue out. Else, I think I will now have to try for GRE.
