Hi SanchitSanjay,

Since you're already using e-GMAT, I'd like to point out that you have access to 70+ sectional mocks and 5 SIGma-X full-length mocks as part of your course. How have you been performing on those mocks so far? More importantly, have you been hitting the hard accuracy targets needed to reach your target GMAT score?

The scoring on our SIGma-X mocks is designed to be within 20-30 points of the official test scoring. For example, one of our recent success stories is Shrutav 805, who was consistently scoring in the 755-765 range on our SIGma-X mocks before taking his official test.

For your tight budget situation, I'd recommend using the official mocks 1 and 2 (which are free), and then purchasing just mocks 3 and 4. These can be used twice each, providing good value for money while preserving your budget.

kabirgandhi, I noticed you mentioned that e-GMAT mocks are "overall easier." I'm curious - is this assessment based on statistical data you've analyzed, or is it more of a general hunch from your experience?

I'd like to clarify that our SIGma-X mocks are specifically modeled to replicate how the official test works, using the same Maximum Likelihood algorithm that powers the official GMAT. Additionally, all our questions go through a rigorous validation process to ensure they accurately reflect the difficulty levels you'll encounter on the actual test.

The goal is to provide the most realistic practice experience possible, so I'd be interested to hear more about your specific experience with our mocks.

Best of luck to both of you with your GMAT preparation!

Thanks for your reply, Rajat.

The reason I checked for additional mocks was that I found the SIGma-x full-length mocks to be slightly more difficult and lengthy compared to the free official mocks and the free mocks I could take from other providers. Happy to learn that these mocks give a rough range with a deviation of 20-30 points. Maybe I need to pull up socks before my exam on 22nd.

Completely agree on the quality of questions that the SIGma mocks provide.

Regards,
Sanchit

My personal experience regarding E-GMAT free mock, i scored a 675. In official mocks I am still at 625, even after 2 attempts. So definitely they felt easier to me as well. Specially for Quant and DI. But I would like to mention that in GMAT 625, I got only 3 wrong in quant still scored a Q84 so maybe question wise they might be same level but GMAT FE's algo is pretty harsh.

Thanks for the reply Rajat, E-gmat's mock was good, I couldn't finish the entirety, so I will not comment on the score accuracy, but the easier questions was just a "hunch", since I scored a bit higher on the mock in the 2 sectional percentiles that I did finish, than my preceding 2 official mocks, I just assumed, could be that the score is accurate, and I understand how difficult mimicing the GMAT's sophisticated scoring and adaptive algorithm would be, so kudos to the team.

I personally found the GMAT Club Mocks to be a bit harder on Quant and DI than official mocks. However, even though some degree of variation in score is normal, I don't think GMAT club scores are inaccurate to this extent, leading to an almost 150-point differential; at most, it would be 30-40 points, I believe. There must be some difference in the test-taking conditions/overall type of questions in your GMAT official mocks. GMAT Club mocks tend to throw questions at you in an adaptive difficulty, whereas the topics of the questions seem a bit random to me. The official mocks seem to press harder on topics you don't do well on. E.g., if you got 2 rates/ratios/per cent problems incorrect, you might likely see another easier one, instead of a new topic altogether, and if that is a weak point, then your score would dip significantly, since you would not necessarily be allowed to paint a good picture of the overall ability, since getting more rates/ratios/percent questions would decrease the number of questions from other topics.

Please analyse your scores and re-do mock questions once you finish them to check where you went wrong, and whether it is a conceptual gap/silly mistake, etc.; that is the best way to go about it
