To prepare his famous meatloaf, Gordon uses veal, which costs $6 per pound, and pork, which costs $3 per pound. If the meatloaf weighs 9 pounds and costs $36, how many more pounds are used of pork than of veal?

V cost= 6 per pound
Quantity used = x
P cost= 3 per pound
Quantity used= (9-x)
Find= P quantity- V quantity

6x+3(9-x) =36
6x+27-3x =36
3x=36-27=9
x=9/3=3
Quantity of V used = 3 pounds
Quantity of P used = 9-3=6 pounds

Quantity (P-V) = 6-3=3 pounds

The tricky part of this qiuestion is how many more pounds of pork and veal.
So let Veal be X pork (9-x)
6x+3(9-x)=36
6x-3x=36-27
3x=9=>x=3

Pork=9-3=6
How much more pork than veal=6-3=3 pound (option A)
