Two ways to solving
1. Using smart numbers
Let's assume that the developer sold 100 houses in September.
H = 100
Quote:
Houses sold in October = \((1-\frac{20}{100}) * 100 = 80\)
Quote:
Houses sold in November = \((1+\frac{50}{100}) * 80 = 120\)
Quote:
We know that, H = 100, therefore
120 = 1.2H
Option C
2. Algebra
Number of house sold in September = H
Quote:
Houses sold in October = \((1-\frac{20}{100}) * H = 0.8H\)
Quote:
Houses sold in November = \((1+\frac{50}{100}) * 0.8H = 1.2H\)
