The sum of the wages earned by Rachel, Robin and Richard in a week is $2600. It is also known that 4 times Rachel's wage is equal to 6 times Robin's wage and 8 times Richard's wage. How much is Rachel's wage more than that of Robin?

Now, lets understand the question step by step in a a better way:-
Step 1:-
Let the weekly wages of
Now, R1 + R2 + R3 = 2600
and,
4 * Rachel's wage = 6 * Robin's wage = 8 * Richard's wage
Step 2:-
Let this common value be k.
So,
R1 = k/4
R2 = k/6
R3 = k/8
Step 3:-
Now add them up:
k/4 + k/6 + k/8 = 2600
Take the LCM of 4, 6, and 8 = 24
So,
(6k + 4k + 3k) / 24 = 2600
= 13k / 24 = 2600
k = (2600 × 24) / 13 = 4800
Step 4:
Now find each person’s wage:

Rachel earns 1200 – 800 = 400 more than Robin.
Final Correct Answer:- $400 Option(B)

a=6x, b=4x & c=8x
We know that 6x + 4x + 8x = 2600
x = 200
We've been asked 6x - 4x = 2x = 400
