You probably calculated the total of people giving 9s and 10s as rating.
Total of people giving 9s and 10s is 1755.
9s --> 1560
10s --> 195

You probably chose 1560, which is only the total for 9s and NOT the difference.

Difference is thus 1560-195 = 1365.

Hope it helps.

Median rating would be 8 because 50th percentile will lie in rating 8 based on given data.
Mean will be 8.25. We can assume total as T and can form equation to solve for T. We can then determine number of people who gave rating of 9 as we know that there is no overlap between people giving rating of 9 and 10.

Is my approach correct kevincan?

At the end of a cruise, passengers rated their experience on a scale from 1 to 10. 25% of passengers gave a rating of 7, and 30% gave a rating of 8. All remaining passengers gave ratings of either 9 or 10. If the mean rating is 0.25 points greater than the median rating, and 195 passengers gave a rating of 10, what is the difference between the number of passengers who gave a rating of 9 and those who gave a rating of 10?

A) 195
B) 1170
C) 1365
D) 1560
E) 1950
