Hey GMAT Club,
I've been lurking here for a while, and I figured it's time to actually document my journey. Maybe it'll be useful for someone in a similar situation.
A bit about me: I'm based in Hyderabad, working full-time on a six-day work week. That means on weekdays I can realistically only study for about an hour, and on weekends maybe two to two-and-a-half hours. That's it. No luxury of long study sessions or full-day prep mode.
My goal is to get into a top university abroad for my MBA. And I have exactly three months from today to make that happen.
Now here's the sad part I am genuinely bad at quant. Always have been. Math was never my strong suit through school, and it's carried into adulthood. Verbal I'm reasonably okay with, but quant is a real challenge for me.
I'll be posting regularly here documenting what's working, what's not, and everything in between. No fluff, just my real experience.

Six-day work week in Hyderabad, one hour on weekdays. That's a tough schedule, but honestly workable if the prep is structured right. I was in a similar spot before I took my GMAT Focus (also working, also a tight window).
The quant thing is real. Most working professionals in India who feel weak at quant have the same root issue: they're trying to memorize formulas instead of building number sense. For GMAT Focus specifically, Problem Solving rewards flexible thinking over formula recall. What helped me was spending the first 2-3 weeks doing only medium-difficulty questions and writing down exactly why I got each wrong. Not just the correct method, but what went wrong in my reasoning.
One thing that's underrated when you're time-constrained: don't practice for volume. Practice for review time. If you solve 10 problems in 45 minutes and spend the next 45 fully understanding every mistake, that beats doing 30 questions in 90 minutes with a quick glance at the answers.
Three months is actually enough for a solid score if you're consistent. The Data Insights section is often where working professionals lose the most points because it feels unfamiliar. Worth front-loading some DI practice early so it doesn't become an afterthought at the end.
Looking forward to seeing your updates. The fact that you're documenting this publicly means you're already more accountable than most people who start prep.

Balancing a 6 day work week with prep is tough, so consistency will matter more than hours. And don’t stress too much about quant! most people start there, it’s very trainable with practice.
