Need Help: Administrative Hold

Question

Hey

I got my results on 25th Aug, and sent my scores to the respective colleges. But couple of days back I got the message on my mba dashboard stating it's on Adminstrative hold but in the dashboard they say anything email was sent but there has been mail regarding this.

I reached out to Pearson vue and they confirmed there was issue or hold on their end and it is from the mba side. I have called their customer service but they are not aware of this since it belongs to test security a backend team

I have mailed them several time and there be no update for the past 3 days and with the deadlines of colleges approaching I don't know what to do. Are my scores getting cancelled? Or will it be on hold always?

No, i was just asking. i got my official score report within 6 hrs of taking exam. The process was very smooth.

You should tag experts in the post, they might help you with the problem

Your account has been temporarily placed on an Administrative Hold for our security team to review. 
 
You will receive an update once the review is completed. In the meantime, you may provide any additional information that may assist us. You may use this opportunity to be forthcoming about any malpractice that was committed during your exam Appointment xxxxxxx on 2026-08-04. 
 
While you await an update, any information you can share that may provide clarity during this timeframe will be assessed. If we determine the details you provided are complete and truthful, then we may consider your cooperation in the event of proceeding with any security holds or exam score revocation. 
 
Please note that GMAC reserves the right to hold any score to conduct any additional security reviews, as per the GMAT Policies and Procedures you agreed to when registering for the exam.

I seriously dont know how to respond to this accusation, and they have not said what I can provide to prove that I'm innocence, no timelines or even an attempt for me to say/respond and that too for test-centre exam

Is this in person at the test center or online? 
Also you mentioned August 25. It took them from the fourth until the 25th to get you the results?

Yes it's in person, a test-centre and yes they took 16 business days and now I'm facing this adminstrative hold and after 7 days ingot this message stating the above not sure how to resolve this
Pearson Vue has given a statement that there are no holds or blockers from their end but appears from mba/gmac

This is nutty!

They are talking about it as though they have all the evidence and there is something terrible done and then they are asking you to come clean? 
I mean get a handle on your test centers... either get the evidence or move on and don't fish for it. Sounds very strange.

This is nutty. The usual responses people write usually are:

1. Uh. no, I did not commit any malpractice or whatever you are calling it. You can be Genuinely surprised and concerned but do not be aggressive as that may read as trying to cover guilt. Cheaters often go ballistic for that exact purpose. 
2. Here are my practice exam scores - they are high and here is my evidence of studying and performing well. 
3. Here is my GPA - I am smart and your test is supposed to correlate with it so connect the dots
4. Appreciate your fast remediation of this situation as I am on a tight deadline and need this score for my applications and need it by XYZ date to submit (though it sounds like you already submitted it which is good) so you can skip this one. 
5. Do not tell them that it is a huge loss for you (even if it is) but you don't want to say this is going to be hard to achieve again or that you can easily retake it again if they give you. Just be like - that's my score and I deserve it.

P.S. Congrats on the 735! That's a nutty score too!

I have submitted all my mocks scores and even the Pearson Vue message as proof of not having any hold for the exam hence not sure how else I can get my score back

I contacted Pearson Vue they said there is no hold, but on 3rd September they got a request for centre recording

After that when I checked my dashboard is when I noticed this hold? They did not inform before 
Are there any chance of getting my scores?

I strongly believe you are in good faith. The truth will win, always. If you are nothing to hide the only thing is to stay calm, cool down and wait.

I know this is way easier said than done. I know. However, stressing too much will only increase your anxiety and cortisol!!

Hi. You should if you have no issues on your side with any kind of questionnable behavior which I am sure you do not have as otherwise why post. 
The test center does not have to inform you about anything - request for video is just an internal matter so I am curious why they even disclosed it (interesting to know and transparent of them).

Unfortunately you will have to be persistent. But it seems they clearly are investigating something and using the background details. I thought the video recordings are available automatically so interesting that they have to request them.

In the worst case scenario, what will happen if they do cancel?

I did check their cancellation policy, it says they will inform me in advance of the score cancellation and a 7day window is given for me

But the problem is the college already have received the score and it's confirmed, I'm thinking of switching to gre so I can give that score instead.
