Mix & Match scores

Question

Hi all,

Does anyone know, which of the top 15 (by any ranking) US MBA programs accept mixed scores? That is, take the verbal from one exam and the quant from the other.

I gave the GMAT twice and first time I scored 77%ile in math and 89%ile in verbal and in the second time I scored 95%ile in verbal and 60%ile in math. I am very shocked by the Math score as in all my practice tests I was getting atleast 75%ile in math. Anyway, just curious if any top school does accept the highest score from individual section. A while ago I read one of the small top school (maybe Tuck) does accept it, but am not sure anymore.

It'll be great if anyone can point out some programs.

They'll generally look into your overall best score and will not break it down into Q and V. 
Not sure about the AWA, but that one makes sense to treat separately and actually look at your best score there as well regardless of whether it was on the same take as the GMAT overall best score.

In general they are not gonna help you with that. They have a million apps with a good score on one test date, they are not going to go through the bother of splitting yours up for your benefit over others.

I'm pretty sure Tuck allows you to give your highest breakdowns along with your highest overall score. I'm not sure how much the breakdown weighs into their decision versus the overall score.

I haven't heard of a single school doing that. They can't make up a composite score from individual scaled scores and percentages. It's not like the SAT or GRE in that regard. Too bad, though. Would be nice!

The admissions committee takes into consideration your highest test score. The Tuck application allows students to report up to two GMAT test scores. If you have scored better on one test in the verbal section and better on the other in the quantitative section, we will consider your highest quantitative and highest verbal scores.

i have a side two-fold question....

Tuck says it allows 2 gmat scores reported only. what does that mean?

1 does that mean the scores that we send Tuck during the Submit to Schools portion of the GMAT test counts as 1?

2 can we NOT send any scores and THEN send after we take the GMAT and gotten the official scores and all?

1 - Yes
2 - You can send scores in any order that you want. I don't think that the statement above has anything to do with sending your scores through GMAT. This is for when you self-report your scores on the application. In the end, Tuck will see your entire GMAT score history, but they will only "consider" the two that you self-report.
