From what you've given us it is something like...

q: original # of hours
p: original hourly wage
h: # of hours MORE than p

q * p = 2.40

(q + h) * (p + 0.15) = 3.30

2 equations, 3 unknowns... we need to know this "h" value I made up here.

danny makes p dollars an hour. he works q hours. his total weekly wage was $2.4. if he increases his hours, he will make an additional 15 cents per hour and make $3.3 total per week. What is the value of p?

I agree with the rest of the posters...
Two equations, three unknowns:
Set x=increased hours per week
(1) pq = 2.4
(2) (p+0.15)*(q+x)=3.3
