I really can't see how they would make so many calls on the first two days, then take a break from calling people on day 3 (except for one person who happened to report a call first thing in the morning), and then continue making calls on days 4 and 5. As per a few other gmatclubbers' analyses, it would seem the ratio of admits to applicants is already in the ballpark of prior stats, and that no other year or round took more than 2 or 3 days to make all of the calls. This all leads me to believe that we are finito. If optimism is what some people need to help get them through the weekend until the bad news is ultimately delivered, then more power to you. I'm choosing to face reality. It's over.

I'm definitely going to GBR, although I'm in Chicago so it's not a bad trip. I'm excited to meet people.

Speaking of which, in addition to the school-sponsored event on the 18th, there's an informal Chicago admit meet-up tomorrow (Thursday) night at Urban Belly. PM me if you're interested. [And sorry to post this in the middle of all the anxiety!]

And good luck to those of you waiting - it's not over till it's over.

hey....ny1 knows what the yield % of ross is ?

If by yield % you mean the acceptance rate, it's 23% according to businessweek.

Here are the other stats:

Quote:
Applications (admitted and denied) to the newest class:

2,697

Applicants who were accepted to the most recent class:

23 %

Admitted applicants who enrolled in the newest class:

79 %

Applicants who were re-applicants from prior years:

4 %

Percentage of this year's reapplicants accepted:

31 %

Applicants wait-listed during the last admissions cycle:

354

No, yield is something different. It's the 79% in the table above.

Quick question. I signed up for the Ross Admitted Student Receptions in my area yesterday, but I haven't gotten a confirmation email. Are the confirmation emails sent automatically or does someone do the registration manually and then send you an email?

I'm going to the Ann Arbor reception, and I received the confirmation immediately.

Thanks! Hmm, I wonder if I should email/call them to confirm my registration. I do have the event info, though.

I'm also not sure if I'll be going to the GBR, because I've already visited the campus twice, once last year for a school visit, and once this year for the on-campus interview. The airfare/hotel/car rental do add up, unfortunately, and now I really need the money for tuition, etc.

How important to attend the Ross's Go Blue ? For international student, that is not fun as you have to afford at least 2 K to pay for all travel and still later once decide to matriculate another 2K.

It seems like they almost finish calling.

Lets count: 20 mins to call or email each admitted student. On average they start the call from 12 pm until 5 pm so total is 15 students per day for each person. It seems like we receive call from 3 ladies, so total call, email per day is 45. So for 5 days this week we have total 225 admitted student this round. Thats, I think, the upper bound.

Cheer,

I think the GBR's value is in meeting fellow students and finding housing, not the info sessions.

I'm doing a dual so I've been here for the past year working on the other degree, and I'd recommend securing housing fast. Decent housing with good rents have already gone or will go soon. I started looking in June last year and had a really tough time finding housing that wasn't shady without paying a hefty premium.

Does Ross have student housing, or do they have some of kind service that helps you find housing?

How is the winter there at Ross, severe ?

I toured the graduate/student family housing (Northwood) when I went to interview. It's north of campus adjacent to the bio-engineering-type facilities. I got the impression that the majority of students there are in the sciences, and that was confirmed when I asked the Ross Ambassadors. None of the ambassadors I talked to knew any Ross students who lived in Northwood; that made it a deal-breaker for me.

Where do the Ross students live? Somewhere close to campus?

I heard three apartment complexes mentioned: Woodbury Gardens, The Ponds at Georgetown, and Lake Village, though Woodbury seems to be the most popular. I think Woodbury is something like 1.5 miles south of the b-school building.

Yeah, I think that's fairly optimistic. I have not given up all hope yet, but I'm sure close.
