If I am looking to change careers can I not do that with a part-time program 
My philosophy is that I want the degree (MBA) I just don’t want to be broke trying to get it

In my opinion...
Full-time MBAs are typically better for career switchers. This is primarily because you get a summer internship - ideally to gain experience in your new profession. This is pretty standard, a good portion of MBA graduates are looking to transition into new careers - so employers will be accepting and understanding if this is your situation. Part-time programs are ideal for people who are very happy with their current career but have hit a ceiling of sorts and need additional credentials to take the next step.

I am also debating between the two. In once case I have #1 and #3 ranked PT program locally and my company will pay for it 100% so that is looking tempting, however the one part that my concern you is that looking at the PT program it looks really hard to change careers, without internship and recruiting through the school you might not be able to get anyone to notice your resume. If you do go with PT make sure that the school allows PT program to attend recruiting session with the Full-time program. Some schools allow it, many don't from my research.
