Less popular options include:

demand that
threaten that
blackmail you
caution you
command thee
order you
require that
necessitate that
invoke the
badger you

For example:

"I demand that you admit me to your school. I threaten that if you don't I will slander thee on the interweb chat rooms. Either that or I will blackmail you. I further caution you that failure to follow these instructions will result in immediate action on the part of my lawyer. In particular, article X, subsection 98-B II commands thee to admit all interested parties with full scholarships and further orders you to do so immediately. In addition, this legislation necessitates that you immediately reply via notarized letter within 24 minutes of receiving this notice. Finally, I invoke the power of grayskull and will badger you until you admit me."

Have other people start reading your resumes to critique/review them. With most of my writing (work/applications) it always helps to get another person's view point on it as soon as possible.

ok, a fun one - practicums vs practica. these both have been stated as an acceptable plural of practicum, and they both come up with the fun squiggly red line in word. to me, practica sounds better, but which is more common and "fits"?

here is the sentence:

"...available via lectures, case studies and competitions, and consulting practicums."

or

"...available via lectures, case studies and competitions, and consulting practica."

the answer is A

Which word would I use?
1. practicum
2. practica

a. 1 is sufficient
b. 2 is sufficient
c. both together
d. each on its own
e. neither of the two

well because dictionary.com lists practicum as a word and not practica. so if someone challenged me i can say "hey, it's on dictionary.com"

I prefer practicum too. But have you looked into a simpler way to say the same thing ..don't have any examples but I'm sure they exist

i really can't think of a simpler way to say it, most schools explicitly have a "consulting practicum" in which you can participate.
