Guys/Girls,
I am so freakin' happy!!! Just left the test center in Berlin and am waiting for my train back home...So I thought I might share my experiences regarding the GMAT and the worst (!!!) week of my life.
I am a Bachelor of Science in Business Adm. student here in Germany and just came back from my exchange semester some days ago. I registered for the test back in October and ordered OG12, OG Verbal and Quant, and the Manhattan Study Guides Verbal and Math. November 4, I TOEFLed a 115 score and thought I could start with studying for the GMAT. However, Tequila and traveling were a lot sexier than studying, so I did not do any of it until Last Sunday. My flight back from Mexico was a mess, stop-over in New York, NYC to Frankfurt with Air India and 350 screaming kids was horrible. I just wanted to get some sleep b/c I always suffer from jetlag. Well, back in Germany I went to my parents' place and told them to leave me alone for 7 days

Last Sunday I found this forum and began reading debriefings, basic strategies, you name it, until 2 pm. Then jetlag paid its due and I fell asleep for the rest of the day and did not advance at all.
The other days I followed a strict 8am-10pm schedule, incl. 1hr lunch break and 10min break after 20 timed questions in each area. RC of course was a little different.
What I did:
Mon: Math and grammar review, no questions solved, just read
Tue: PS
Wed: DS
Thu: SC
Fri: CR
Sat: RC and GMATPrep 1 and
MGMAT 2
Sun: GMATPrep 2 and relax
Mon: the real GMAT
The results are:
GMATPrep 1: 630, Q37, V40 - I f***ed up the first 5 quant questions, pretty bad
GMATPrep 2: 600, Q41, V35 - I didn't answer the last Q and ran out of time in V so I just clicked through the last Vs w/o actually reading them.
MGMAT 1: 640, can't remember Q and Vs now but it was not good at all

I just managed to go through all of the OG12 questions, the additional OG books were obsolete

So, today was pretty hard. I went to Berlin yesterday, booking in a hostel (single room) and bought some fruit and a pizza and then went to sleep at 10pm. However, I simply could not fall asleep and was awake until 3am. Whatever I did (Chopin's nocturnes that normally work, 2 episodes of Family Guy, etc.) ==> Nothing worked. DARN THAT.
At 6:45am my alert woke me up from my deepest dreams and I was kinda tired

. I checked out, went to the Test Center. Everything was smooth, although traffic conditions were chaotic (it's freezing cold, -15°C)...
Was the first at the test center at 8:30, drank some Coke and reviewed a little math. Then the test started.
AWA was no problem at all, straight forward thx to Chinaburns. Quant was ****; 4 of the first 5 I was unsure. I thought: I WILL NEVER GONNA MAKE IT but somehow I managed a Q46.
During the breaks I drowned a Red Bull and a package of DextroEnergy, puuuure sugar, b/c I was so tired of everything.
Verbal seemed pretty straight forward and since English is not my first language, I am quite pleased.
So, my advice for the last minute learners: look for a quiet spot, learn a week in there, don't see any friends, one day per topic and then GO for it!
I needed a 650-660 score (Master of Science program in Sweden), so I over-fulfilled my plan

))))))
Kind regards and a Merry Christmas to all of you.
A more-than-happy Sven
