I did not mean compulsory courses or courses the school will ask me to take. Rather, some course to add to my profile before applying to B-school. for example CFA..

Unfortunately, I come from an engineering background. Never did any of those courses. I work as a proprietary trader now. I'm looking to pursue an MBA soon but do not want to continue with my present job for now. Hence, I was looking for some courses to take before applying to B-school.

petesampras,

Depending on where you live, a local university might allow you to take b-school courses a la carta as a non-degree-seeking student. I live in New Orleans (although I'm headed to Wharton this fall!), and I took three courses over three semesters at Tulane's Freeman School of Business: intro to finance, financial accounting, and investments. To enroll all I needed was an undergrad transcript and a resume, no GMAT. The courses weren't cheap ($1250 per credit plus fees) but they were absolutely worth it. Plus, I got access to all other university facilities, like the gym and the library.
