The whole process that we've all gone through this past year just seems hysterical in hindsight... applying to business school fosters some serious neuroses.
Yea, this is what I wonder about sometimes. I mean, is it only b-schools that generate this kind of "neurosis?" I haven't observed it with other types of schools, like law school, engineering school, etc. I remember that when I applied to grad school in engineering, I applied to only one school and got in. Spent maybe just a couple of days on the application and then forgot all about it until I got the offer letter. B-school application process is in a league all its own. Seriously.
My girlfriend was applying to Public Policy school during the same time. She never even reached 10% of my stress level, applied to fewer schools, spent less on the test and application fees, and didn't have to to deal with the "characters" on any forum. I don't know what it is about MBA prospects, but we are dead set on giving ourselves ulcers.
