The total number of test takers seems quite low to me.

Thats the total number of test takers somewhere in the vicinity of 2L. This not like any indian test.

Lot of people dont take it. most of whom who start studying give up. So eventually very few see the GMAT test center.

Does anyone know how many people each year score above 700? Are there any statistics on that?

Hey nonamee,

The number of people who will score above 700+ will 16% of the test takers. This is how the exam pattern is prepared. It will take the help of the bell curve.
Normally 700+ will be around 50K every year. This is the requirement.

Keerthan

Not sure how you arrived at 16%. Official percentile ranking from GMAC puts it at 10% Here is the link: https://www.mba.com/mba/thegmat/gmatscor ... gmeans.htm
