In R1 pre-select invites started rolling out on 15th Oct (> 2 weeks before the actual date) and interview invites were sent all the way upto and including 5th Nov, which the deadline. A trend was seen of invites going out geographically as well.

US and MiddleEast first followed by Asia and then Europe. (May be because they have higher number of alumni in Europe compared with other geographies).

So keep calm and don't panic. Once you have hit the submit button there is nothing you can do so just relax and wait for the deadline.

Btw, on the deadline day they do inform everyone of either invite for interview or ding.

What about Spaniards?

Thank you.

By the way, today is the day we receive the Christmas presents in Spain.

What a wonderful gift would be to receive the "pre-selected" email! Are you hearing INSEAD? C'mon ;)

A suggestion: the Gmatclub emails should change their subject. When I read INSEAD my heart shrinks almost every time.

Spain: 2

Good luck!

Hey any idea on what the count of Middle East (Lebanon, Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, Egypt) admits?

Thanks

Hi everyone

Ok, so I know that INSEAD does not release acceptance rates and so on, but does anyone have an approximate idea of what percentage of applicants are accepted? or an educated guess?

I am wondering how INSEAD compares to the top b-schools in the US (ie., Columbia) in terms of difficulty getting in.

Anyone?

Overall the acceptance rate would probably be a bit higher maybe around 25%. Keep in mind though that the quality of candidates is probably on the same level as US schools as there are couple of reasons they will get fewer applications than US based schools - first the second and third language requirement and second it is perceived to be harder to get a loan than at US based schools as there is no school guaranteed loan program. (I haven't researched in depth most us based schools on loan programs so somebody else might be more familiar).

Congrats to those fortunate few with interview invites, good luck and let us know how interviews went. any idea what percentage of total applicants get interview invites? It seems so long since the R2 deadline, long period of inactivity accompanied by a short moment of mayhem.

I really had a rapport with alumni contacts and fantastic school visit with the feeling "I would like to be part of this community", hope that my feeling is returned.

Tuition fees for the September 2011 and January 2012 entries amount to €56,000.

If offered a place on the INSEAD MBA programme, you will be given a deadline by which you should secure your seat by paying a non-refundable first instalment of the programme fees totaling €5,000. This first instalment is generally due four weeks after having received the admission offer.

Approximately one month before the programme starts you will pay a non-refundable second tuition instalment equivalent to about 60% of total tuition, €34,000. The final tuition instalment of €17,000 is due approximately three and a half months after the programme start.

yep that was a "pleasant" surprise I noticed today also. It was included in the finance chat invitation :( they must have just changed the website also. 4,000 extra is quite a bit of a raise nearly 8%.

Considering the Euros are on a downtrend, it might not be so bad as you think.

Take a look at the current chart pattern of the euro. Euro has a possiblity of trading at Euro:USD = 1.15 sometime before this summer. I am sure lots of us will take big advantage of that if it does happen.

.... any idea what percentage of total applicants get interview invites? ....

The rumor is that it's 25% of overall acceptance as chvora01 already mentioned.
Out of 100% of applicants 50% get invited for the interview. Out of those - 50% are offered a place in the program.

Also, it's often said that despite the INSEAD's acceptance rate is significantly higher than in the US programs, the level of self-selection of INSEAD candidates (i.e. quality) is somewhat better.

Which makes the numeric comparison of acceptance completely impossible :)

Although again - no official information, just guesses.

ligett,

Thanks for the info. 25% admission rate, 50/50% interview from pool and offer sounds in line with other programmes (Ross, Booth). The alleged higher admission rate and self selection of quality applicants is familiar from other school such as Booth.

Cille,

Way to go, girl. Good luck with your interviews, at least plenty alumni available for interviews in London.
