Yes. Waiting does pay off, and as I said before, if you want entertainment, go to Ross's thread. It is unbelievable.

In terms of interview, I would like to emphasize one of Rhyme's point regarding explaining your long-term and short-term goals - focus on WHY rather than WHAT. It is important to sound passionate about what you want to do, and according to my interviewer, whom I talked to after my acceptance, told me the same.

Unfortunately, I have decided to take the new job, and try on MBA couple years later, if felt needed. Good luck to all

I've been biting my tongue for awhile, but I think this needs to be said. I went through this process in round 2, and am waiting for a decision from another school, so I've been in the same boat. I know how difficult waiting is, and the anxiety that it brings. That said, the decision deadline is more than 2 weeks away, and it's been established in this forum that interview invitations can be sent up to and including that deadline day. I don't have any personal experience here, but if I were the AdCom (or another person answering the phone who sees AdCom members multiple times daily), I would not take well to receiving an e-mail (or worse, a phone call) from someone who is waiting anxiously to receive an interview invite. To me, such a thing would be an indicator of impatience, immaturity and inability to follow directions. If you were going to receive an interview invite eventually, I would think that would be a strike against you, and if you weren't, even worse. It may be that this process is so large and complex that perhaps they don't or won't connect the dots, but is it really worth the chance? Whoever answers the phone is likely going to tell you what you already know - that interview invitations can still be sent out over the next two weeks. So it sounds to me like a risk not worth taking.

Again, having been there myself, I know this process is stressful. My advice would be to find something to distract you from the minute-by-minute grind of waiting for invites, news, etc. There's no point in stressing over how long it's been since your application went under review (I may be wrong, but I highly doubt there's a scientific correlation there). Just be patient and show everyone at the school, from the AdCom to the staff in the Admissions Office, that you are who your application says you are - a qualified and poised future business leader.

My fliends, I've attached the list of Cornell interview questions I'm using to prepare. The questions are grouped roughly by topic, and I took them from the various posts from people who have completed their interviews and a few from Rhyme's list of interview questions.

Brainhurt- you have done a great job putting this together. Just an add-on the weakness question. I know its a given that you should know your application inside-out, but if there is a weakness in your application and if asked, be prepared very well/convincingly to address that. And how you realized that was a weakness and what steps you took to address it.

Also, be prepared sometimes it might not be one person, but two people in the room for the interview. Putting it out there. But only one person will be asking the questions.

Right - I think it has been said, but the interviewer has a summary of your application, and is going to specifically ask you about the weak points. So if you think there is a weakness, they will almost certainly ask you about it. For instance, mine was lower than average work experience, and how I could still add value to the class in that regard. Be ready for those.

Despite the snowstorm, I was able to keep my interview appointment at 11:15 this morning. My interviewer (in true Canadian fashion) actually got to work on her snowshoes!

Overall I felt the interview went really well. It was pretty laid back and conversational. The questions, as I remember them, were:

- Tell me about yourself
- Elaborate on your short/long term goals (with follow-up specific to my answer)
- Why Cornell?
- Where else are you applying?
- Talk about a time when you had to deliver bad news or fire someone
- Talk about a time when you faced a difficult situation within a team setting.
- Is there anything the admissions committee should know about you that may not come through in your application?
- Do you have any questions for me?

In addition we chatted at the beginning and end about our shared backgrounds (both Canadian, and she was even from the same town as me!, both have kids, both love hockey). I think I could have been more coherent on some of the why's. Also, when she asked where else I was applying I told her the schools and that's about it, thinking that she would follow up with some further questions, but she pretty much just said ok and moved on. Felt like I missed the opportunity to emphasize that though I was applying to these other schools I really want to come to Cornell. I covered the Why Cornell pretty well elsewhere so hopefully that's ok.

I could be totally delusional, but I was really pleased with how it went, and I'm very hopeful for good news on the 22nd.

I've heard that a friend of a friend of mine is scheduled to interview next week- and he applied in R2 (international applicant). Could that even be possible?

Just got a call from JGSM - I'm in.

I applied in R2 and was waitlisted. Sent a supplementary recommendation, and it paid off.

760 GMAT, 22 yo international applicant (spent five years studying in the US), straight-through (currently a college senior in a tier 4 school), 3.3 cumulative GPA, 1 year tech entrepreneurship experience.

Feels like I consumed some potent drug right now....
