Trucker: The new law will cause the entire transportation industry to shrink. It requires the installation of fire extinguishers and shatter-proof glass in all trucks and has cost truckers nationwide billions of dollars. This led us to bring up our prices, which reduced the number of our clients.

Businessman: Businesses will just opt for other methods of transportation such as small commercial vehicles, trains and boats.

The businessman responds to the trucker by

A. suggesting that the trucker's argument overlooks an alleviating factor
B. supporting the trucker's conclusion but disputing her underlying assumption
C. challenging the validity of the evidence the trucker cites as the basis for the conclusion
D. reinforcing the trucker's conclusion by complementing the picture with further evidence
E. implying that the trucker's conclusion is based on false premises

IMO the answer should be A! Let me know your thoughts on the same.

I got A by POE

trucker's conclusion: The new law will cause the entire transportation industry to shrink
Premise/Evidence Provided by trucker: It requires the installation of fire extinguishers and shatter-proof glass in all trucks and has cost truckers nationwide billions of dollars. This led us to bring up our prices

A. suggesting that the trucker's argument overlooks an alleviating factor - Correct

B. supporting the trucker's conclusion but disputing her underlying assumption - Businessman is definitely not supporting trucker's conclusion by saying businesses will find other modes of transport -> transport industry won't shrink

C. challenging the validity of the evidence the trucker cites as the basis for the conclusion - Business man is definitely not challenging the evidence used by the trucker. Business only challenges the trucker's conclusion.

D. reinforcing the trucker's conclusion by complementing the picture with further evidence - Like B, businessman is not supporting/reinforcing trucker's conclusion

E. implying that the trucker's conclusion is based on false premises - BusinessMan acknowledges the premise (evidence) provided byrucker

Experts anytime please correct me if you see issue in my reasoning.

Thanks
