Two boys can mow a lawn in 2 hours thirty minutes. If 3 other boys helped, how long would it take to mow the same lawn with all of them starting at the same time, each working at their independent rate?

(1) All of the boys work at the same rate.
(2) The boys started mowing at 6 a.m.

Statement 1:
The rates are all the same so we can ratio out the answer, 2 boys take 2h 30 min, then 1 boy takes 5 hours, and 5 boys take 1 hour. Sufficient.

Statement 2:
Irrelevant, insufficient.

Is S2 insufficient because we cannot make the assumption that they work at the same rate?

So after reading the question and statement 2, all we can infer is that 2 boys finish a work in a certain time, now 5 boys are doing the work in total, and they start at the same time (6 AM); so we don't know whether these 3 boys have different rates or whether each boy works at a different rate, yes?
