Hi Brent BrentGMATPrepNow, is below reasoning correct?

Two dice, total number of outcomes is 36
Among the numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6, there are only 4 numbers add up to 9.
Therefore 4/36 = 1/9

Yes, there are 36 possible outcomes, and only four of those outcomes, (3,6), (6,3), (4,5) and (5,4) have a sum of 9.
So, the probability = 4/36 = 1/9

Two dice, each numbered 1 to 6, are tossed.

As we are rolling 2 dice => Number of cases = \(6^2\) = 36

What is the probability that the total score is 9 ?

Lets start listing down the cases where total will be 9
(3,6) (4,5), (5,4), (6,3)

=> 4 cases

=> P(Total=9) = \(\frac{4}{36}\) = \(\frac{1}{9}\)

So, Answer will be B
Hope it helps!
