I recently bought the set of 8 MGMAT books. Should I use the MGMAT CR book at all? Will the different approaches confuse me? In what way are the two strategies different?

I have the PowerScore CR and I like it. Unlike MGMAT they don't advocate writing lot's of things down, they focus on the physics of CR.

They have mini-drills to prepare you for the real thing. I guess you can practice the OG exercises. The PS doesn't have many of them though, and I don't like the fact the answers are not well hidden, so sometimes I mistakenly read the answer before completing the exercise.

But seriously are you going to save $20 when you'll be paying $150k for school? Moreover you can resell the book for only a small loss. So if really in doubt do yourself a favor and just buy the PowerScore book.

Haha, it was not as much about the money as it was about the difference in strategies. But being the person I am, never satisfied until I've seen everything, I went through the Powerscore strategy from their course, read through MGMAT and Veritas as well. Now I am compiling a strategy document myself. But thanks :)

Then as soon as you compile it, upload it here :) .

HI Whiplash,
I am also the winner of on demand course.I have gone thru their CR part but the thing to worry is they have shortened the CR bible and explained the things briefly..I Have CR bible too.it contains 13 chapters for each strategies but if u are going to buy CR bible in search of large number of questions ,u will not find many in it too..but the good part of CR bible is the things are explained quite clearly and step by step not the way they are explained in On demand course just in 2 chapters... !! ;)

Hi whiplash,

Nice to meet you. Please keep in mind that although each book has different approaches, you should choose the one you feel most comfortable with. Also I think a CR document would be great and very benenficial to the GMATClub community.

Thanks,
Dawg

LOL Dawg. <3.

But Sandeep, thanks for your input. I thought that Powerscore was definitely clear enough for me. I might get the CR Bible later if need arises. Thanks :)

I do believe that Powerscore CR is pretty much useless if one already owns MGMAT CR. And vice versa, of course.

You need ONE strategy book for CR; the time left free should be invested in practice problems.

IMHO

I didn't make one for SC, gurpreet. Just the CR one so far. :)
