Need advise regarding Quant

Question

Hello GC members,

Last month I gave GMAT and got 36 in quant. I had gone trough MGMAT Number Properties , I am comfortable regarding the concepts ; for example I am comfortable regarding even and odd concepts , but I have observed that I commit a number of mistakes in these questions as well.

Can you please advise what are the i important things that I should keep in mind during my re-take preparation?

PS,

I think the more you practice these then fewer mistakes you will make. If you feel like number properties if your weakness, then you should keep repeating the prescribed OG problems that the MGMAT guide provides. What kind of mistakes are you making? Arithmetic mistakes or conceptual mistakes, try untimed solving.

Also, try to go through the problem/solutions posted here for your weak areas. You may search based on tag. When you go through different solutions for the same problem, you learn a lot.

Take your time while solving the questions. If your hit rate is not good do not look at the clock and feel bad about not understanding the problem.

Even if you take 1 hour to solve, do it. Note down the moral of the story i.e. how you will approach to a similar question. You can not learn quant if you do not learn and remember the concepts.

Learn from your mistakes and revise whatever you have covered multiple times.

use error log - you are not comfortable enough if you dont get them right consistently.

Make sure to go to the GMAT Club test sub forum for good discussions and explanations.

1. to minimize silly mistakes:
recheck your calculation.it will only take few seconds but it's important to reduce no. of silly errors.
2. find out the area in which you're uncomfortable and work on that area by solving around 50-100 questions from that particular area.
3. try solving MGMAT quant and gmatclub tests. They'll teach you concepts.
