I was wondering if you draw out the figures on the scratch paper?
I find that especially for DS it can be time consuming to reproduce the figure, to find out that you don't even need it to answer the obvious questions. But at times it's helpful as they don't provide all info on the initial figure.
Should I read the question then draw the figure? Or draw the figure when I feel I need it. My problem is to save time, yet not too much as I might fall in one of their traps.

HI Padawan,
Well i will say it depends on the strategy u learned while preparing for GMAT and the habbit u have developed.
for example if u are preparing from MGMAT there most strategies are based on drawing a fig to make things easy. like in RTD questions,Tree Structure for probabalility and ofcourse venn diagram in Sets and so on various strategies...
while in geometry i will say try making a diagram in Ds questions types as sometimes it become difficult to make a clear picture in mind although u may say that for eg if i have 2 sides and something like that given, i can find out easily but i will say in that case also it will help u since u r in time pressure u will tend to forget the things easily and may have to go thru the questions 2-3 times without diagram...
Overal it depends on the various techniques u have learned while preparing but yes in certain cases do make diagram where u feel that question is too long to make a picture in mind eg like a person travelled north then south east then west and so on.............diagraming this will help u solve easily..

I'll therefore stick to diagramming, these GMAT writers are masters of the deception. It would be stupid to fail an easy question because I wanted to save 30" and finally fall in a trap.
I have been timing myself, and I always finish a few minutes ahead of time (aka 2min/q), so I guess diagramming shouldn't play against me.
