Hey

Its good to know that your verbal bit is under control, thats a section more people have trouble with. About the quant section, what you need to bear in mind is that MGMAT and gmatclub tests both are sets of fairly hard questions. They are very good practice indeed, but it is tougher practice than the real thing.

If you have done the OG set of questions, and you did not struggle much with those, I think you are already in safe territory. The MGMAT tests are indeed harder to finish on time as well. I would suggest taking a gmatprep test from the official source and just establishing a baseline of your quant scores. That is a fairly accurate measure of things. On the real GMAT, you will get some hard questions if you start getting a good hit rate, but it is not going to be as many 700+ questions as MGMAT might suggest on their tests

Thanks for the suggestion.

BigRedEnvEng - thanks for the suggestion onMGMAT word translations....It maybe something I need. I found that the main problem for me is that it takes me too long to read and understand the questions sometimes. Hopefully I can pick up a few tips from that book.

shrouded1 - I looked at my mgmat tests again. I seemed to be having issues with 600-700 level questions. i didn't even get many 700+ questions on my tests. But I'm going to try out gmatprep and see how i do. I read that mgmat cats are fairly accurate so I'm not expecting a significant increase in my score.

Hello.

So to follow up...I've done a few GMAT Prep tests in the last month, and I've noticed that the math questions are SO much easier and shorter compared to MGMAT tests' math questions. I've been scoring consistently 49 on math with time left over. Every time I do the GMAT Prep I thought I was doing really bad on math 'cuz I thought the questions I got were really easy. I am actually still a bit nervous about this (maybe I got lucky) but my consistent scores seem to indicate otherwise. However, I still make a LOT of mistakes. I think there were maybe 1 math question in each of the GMATPrep tests that I would consider hard. I'm still trying to minimize the mistakes I make and get my score up to 50+. It's easier said than done however :s

On the verbal parts, I found GMATPrep questions more awkward compared to MGMAT verbal questions. I'm still not able to stabilize my verbal score yet after a few tests...they ranged from 34 to 41. On MGMAT I have been getting 41 to 45.

So during my last week, I'm going to go thru the older GMAT Prep tests and try to work review the mistakes that I've made....and hope for the best :)

I'm glad to hear math is getting easier!!

During the last week before my exam I did the same thing, reviewed those areas where I felt I needed the most work. I thought that worked well - I found information and tricks I didn't catch the first time around, which helped with my comfort level.

Good luck with the exam!! :-D
