Ok, so this is what my Chinese co-worker told me and it's a little seedy. So I thought I would share and get some feedback whether it can be true.
This dude had a passport which had his name written incorrectly. Lets say his name is Wen Jianbao and it was annotated as "Jianbao Wen" on his original passport. He took the GMAT with this passport one time and scored poorly. Then he got his name corrected and got a new passport with the name correctly written as "Wen Jianbao" Since the GMAT wants the first and last name to be exactly the same as your ID, he registered with the new passport and retook the GMAT and got a much higher score.
Now I dont know how the GMAC deals with such situations but doesnt it store passport numbers when you sign in for your test to look out for such situations? I recall the guy looked up my MA ID and tapped a few keys (storing the DL# perhaps?) Wouldnt the fingerprints and handscans have alerted the GMAC to this situation?
I just felt it was a little unfair, esp since he received an invite this friday to interview you know where.

I don't know if it is unfair - most schools do not care about multiple scores.
It is interesting that the scanner does not "trigger" anything but I guess it only works in one-direction. The passport is tied to the palm vs palm is tied/checked with ID's.
On the other hand, what would happen if you moved to another state and got a difference driver's license? I think it would be the same situation....
