I received a 590 on my most recent MGMAT CAT test.
After analyzing score I am noticing that I am getting a majority of the 600-700 / 700 - 800 questions wrong for both Quant and Verbal. I suppose it is safe to say that this is the reason I am not getting over the 600 mark is because I am not getting enough of these higher level questions wrong (obvious). But my question really is..What is the % of answers that need to be correct in order to get over the 600 hump 650 hump etc? I only ask this question because we all know that test takers cannot get all the questions right. Is there a 'limited' amount of questions that you can get wrong to be scoring in the 650 - 700 range? What does a typical scenario for a higher level scorer look like?
Here is a brief of my Quant breakdown provided to me by MGMAT - My Quant score ended up being a 38 in this scenario

There is no such percentage. Think of the GMAT scoring as something like a zig zag curve. It starts at say, 400-500. If you get those right it keeps going up till you get a question wrong, then it cuts back down a lot and gives you an easier one and keeps increasing till you get it wrong then decreases and increases and as the test nears the end, the increment or decrease becomes smaller and smaller. That's how the GMAT predicts your score.
