I've taken the gmat once and sent that score to 5 schools. If I retake it, but do not select any schools to send my new score to, will the 5 schools that have my original score also have access to the new one? I do not want them to see it unless I score higher. I know they only take the highest but I'm just careful.

You'll have to choose the schools you wish to have your score sent to each time you take the test, I think. So unless you choose to send it to the school, they won't be able to see.

why would gmac be so nice to do that for you? they are here to make money so yeah you need to submit those 5 schools again on test day or pay gmac to do it later...
