so, I've taken two practice tests on the GMATprep software. The first one I took a while back, and I didn't write down my sectional score. I do remember I got a 540 over all. I bombed the quantitative but nailed the verbal. So I decided to focus on the quantitative for about a month and took the practice test again. But, once I was through the quantitative section I just blew through the verbal because I was anxious to see my score. I got a 30 on the quantitative. So I was going to combine this with what I got on the verbal in the first test, but when I go back into the first test all I can see is what I got right and what I got wrong.
So, my question is, are you able to tell me what these numbers equate to?
Quantitative - 33 questions - 16 incorrect. I do know this is a 30.
Qualitative - 41 questions, 11 incorrect. What would this equate to?
What would the qualitative and quantitative total over all?
Lastly, am I punished for not finishing the math section? Is it better to fly through the last few questions and just pick an answer??

There's no real way of knowing what a certain split of correct and incorrect answers will give you. The difficulty of the ones you get right and wrong will have an impact--that's the whole point of the adaptive test. As you get more questions right the upcoming questions get harder and vice versa--that helps the test do a better job of zeroing in on an accurate score.
Unanswered questions will kill you--on test day if you realize you've got 3 questions remaining and you're down to your last 2 minutes, you'd probably be better off giving each problem a quick glance and an answer rather than spending both minutes on one question.
Of course the better option is pacing yourself throughout the test so you've got the average 2 minutes left for each of your last handful of questions. During this last week force yourself to keep on pace, and on game day make sure you're not spending 5+ minutes on any problems. If you can't solve it in about 3 minutes tops just cut your losses and move on, knowing that the problem is likely a high-difficulty one that you won't be punished too badly for missing.
