Hi All!
I know this sounds like a silly question but are there standard deviation questions on the GMAT? If you reach such questions then does that mean you've gotten the easier questions correct?
I was also wondering if anyone has been able to gauge their progress on the GMAT in terms of difficulty. In other words, do you know when you're doing a more difficult question then another just by looking at the question?

If one has been exposed to a large number of GMAT questions, one can develop a sense of which questions are supposed to be easy and which are supposed to be more difficult.
One complicating feature of the GMAT is that the validation questions occur within the scored sections as opposed to in a separate section. Thus, some of the bizarre or unusually difficult questions that students encounter might be validation questions instead of score items.

Thanks Hjort! I was curious what the difference is between a validation answer and a scored answer? As I practice more and more I do get a sense of what questions are hard but I'm not sure how that translate on the actual GMAT. In other words, what may be hard to me may not necessarily be a hard question on the GMAT (therefore not an indication that I've answered earlier questions correctly). For that reason I wanted to know if there is some sort of "guidance" that might let me know how I'm doing.
