Hello GMAT Experts,
I have been a member of this forum from some time and have been preparing for GMAT intensely since past 2-3 months.I referred to the below material:
-Quant- Maths book and references from Bunuel and various other material at GMAT Club
-SC - Made my own notes from various practice questions on GMAT Club+OG
-CR- Scoretop,OG
-RC - Just worked on questions in the OG (I could not get any material other than OG or any techniques/theories whatsoever)
I practised all the questions in OG for all topics+Questions in Kaplan. Also worked on GMAT forum questions for all topics
I admit that i was struggling in Verbal (esp RC and CR), but almost a month before the D-day, I scored a 720 in the GMAT prep. This was a big motivation. Later I gave the
MGMAT tests and the scores were not pretty impressive(do not remember the specific scores on sections for all):
GMAT Prep 1 -720 (Q 48,V 44)
GMAT Prep 2- 650
MGMAT 1- 570
MGMAT 2- 620
MGMAT 3- 630
MGMAT 4- 690
800 score Verbal - 39 (this was the best score I got on 800 score verbal sectional)
Gave the GMAT Preps again:
GMAT Prep 2 -700 (3 days before the D-day)
GMAT Prep 1- 730 (Q 49, V 44) (2 days before the D-day)
Did not study a day before the GMAT and chilled out completly. I was confident and was fully prepeared to nail it. However, the final result was very disappointing.
I scored 570 (Q 46, V 23). I was devastated. I think I did well for the initial 6 questions in Verbal until the discussive passage on American political drama showed up. I was freaked out and I think I started messing up after that.Unfortunately, did not get any factual RCs, all discussive.
Today, three days after the bad day, I am completely lost, frustrated and do not understand what to do. How to start all over again. Which good material to refer for RCs and improve on Verbal. Until the GMAT day, I always thought I had worked a lot on practice questions and have all the arsenal to destroy it. But it was the other way round.
Would request you guys to show me a direction. Those who have faced such a situation and also those who have made it in the first go. My worry is that i have exhausted all the GMAT Preps,
MGMAT CATs. My target was to start applying for the 2011 fall. But chances look bleak now. Please help me to get over this and guide me on how to start my struggle again.
Thanks to all in advance....
