I did a mgmat test ten days ago and got a 590 and I just did a gmat prep test and got a 520 , I can't believe it. I'm in shock. Don't know what else to say or write.

I haven't taken the MGMAT tests, but I have taken the GMAT Prep few times, and have noticed that the scoring is different compared to other CATs. I wouldn't worry about the discrepancy. I would worry only about the preparation. Maybe to track your progress use the same CATs, for example the MGMAT ones, since I guess they use the same scoring algorithm. And use the GMAT Prep software at last, just to see your level, since that is the best estimation of your real score according to many.

Thank you for your wonderful and motivational reply, I was destroyed and distraught with shock taking the most out of me. I just couldnt believe it, in math section I scored a 33 and forgot the verbal score but when I saw rights and wrongs, I have gotten six seven questions in some cases correct in both math and verbal, I also saw prob and comb/perm questions which indirectly implies I was doing ok, I have been studying regularly for over 2 months on average around 2 to 3 hours everyday and plan to take the test beg-end august. I also found the GMAT prep test quant section much easier than mgmat.
