Hey Folks,
I'm taking the gmat in 2 weeks and have been getting some really lopsided GMAT scores on the Kaplan CATs.
My verbal is consistently in the 98-99% percentile, but my quant section has ranged widely from a 41-75%.
My overall scores have been 680-710.
The honest truth of the matter is, I'm not really a quant person. I did do a minor in Econ in undergrad, and took calc and stats, but my quant background isn't that solid (overall undergrad gpa 3.68). Professionally, I am an analyst at a large government agency and my function is to investigate large pharma companies- not necessarily their numbers but other components of their businesses (marketing, manufacturing, etc).
Honestly, I just want to get into some decent schools in the dc area. I'd be thrilled with Georgetown, but happy with Maryland. I'm not sure about George Washington or AU, because I haven't researched them enough.
Are those schools unrealistic considering my profile? Any advice about this?
I'm pretty stressed and upset by all of this- I've really been studying the quant hard for months now, but my scores fluctuate regardless of my best efforts- it seems like i cruise through the problems in the Official guides comfortably, but then with Kaplan CATs, I find myself in some trouble.
Thanks,
Rick
