Hey Folks,
I took the gmat yesterday and got a 700. I was very happy with that overall score. I have a sneaking suspicion that I may have bombed the essay portions though, and wondered what everyone's thoughts were about that. I had a 3.68 gpa in political science and econ from a good undergrad program, have good work experience, and all that. My LORs are going to be solid as well. Since I live in and work in the DC area, I'd be happy to go to Georgetown (or possibly UVA).
For the sake of argument, lets say i find out that I did poorly on the AWA- what would everyone's advice be? (Note: The idea of taking the exam again for something like the essay portion makes me feel physically ill, but if that's what you have to do, then that's what you have to do).

This is a perfect opportunity to use the optional essay.
Since you don't know yet, sit on it until you get your official results. Once you know, then come back and a strategy could be devised then.
