Hello everyone,
I am posting this thread because I wanted to share an idea and see what people think of it.
It seems to me that users of this forum who need more guidance could be provided with more help from those who have great experience with GMAT.
It is obvious that you can make threads on this forum and ask everyone everything you need to know. I think sooner or later you can get answers from people or by reading older threads on forum. However, this can take time and sometimes you cannot be sure if your question is fully answered.
So my idea is to make a thread where people who have great experience with GMAT would make a post indicating their willingness to mentor a user on a more frequent basis. This way a person can quickly communicate with the mentor and minimize the unanswered (or not fully) ones or get good tips that otherwise this person would not know of. The communication should be made via PMs of the forum.
This should all be voluntary and without expectation that the person in need of guidance will automatically perform better. That would remove the pressure from mentor and potential negative feelings from the person (if this person does not meet his or hers goal).
What do you think of this? Is it too much?

These people are called moderators, and they exist.
There are also stickies (threads that can not be pushed down) that have this information. The remaining items requires people search for them. There is not a good way to have this information accessible (we have tags).
Also, PMs are not effective, as then information is one on one and is not searchable by users at large.

Well I guess it sounded better to me when I originally posted this thread. 
I know that personally I tend to ask a ton of questions regarding the test itself, out of fear of under-performing. Nobody wants to spend a few months on studying and score less than hoped.
Anyway, thanks for your courtesy, I guess I should start looking at some older stuff.
