Okay - short version...
- I started studying over Christmas. I basically spent my entire Christmas break - a week plus - studying. In that time I worked my way through a lot of two Barron's guides.
- My real weakness, as with many people, is quant. I majored in journalism, so while the verbal section is still challenging it's not my weak spot.
- I've continued studying, putting in 2-3 hours/day midweek and much of Saturdays. I've worked through the GMAC QR (green manual), and have worked through the PS portion of the GMAC 12. Will start the DS portion tomorrow.
- I'm scheduled for March 2, so I have about three weeks left.
At this point I feel like I have a much better grasp of quant overall, and that I can figure out most of my other weak spots before D-day.
What I lack at this point is speed. Last week I took a Kaplan CAT and got a 640. Last night I took another one and got a 650. I just got bogged down so badly that I had to basically skip 5-6 problems - just marked an answer and plowed on ahead so that I didn't leave any unanswered to incur a penalty. If I hadn't had to skip so much, I really feel I would have done far better. And given the design of the test, it's obvious they expect us to guess in some cases - sometimes there's just way too much to figure out in 120 seconds.
So I have a much better grasp of the material. I just need to move faster. Thoughts?

i think u need to practice a lot ( make sure u do most of the prac with the official material)..
moreover, take a diagnostic test of gmatprep , it will give the most realstic result of ur performance..

I failed to add: I took one of the official GMAC CATs first, scored 590. (This is before I took any of the Kaplan CATs.)
