I have some quick decisions to make. I have started around a month ago to prep for the test (maybe 5 hours a week the last month). Took a paper test from GMAT prep (followed the time accurately). Quant: 19/20 (last question random guess). Verb: 13/20 (5 RC, 2 SC wrong).
I have sudden changes to my plan due to a sinus surgery next week. I am going to take a month off. When I am back I will hit the prep like there is no tomorrow. The reason is I want to be able to take the test before June 5th.
How far in advance should I plan for setting up the date? I am from Richmond, VA (just in case there are stats on how busy the centers are).

This is impossible for us to tell you, but from everything I've heard it is very possible that test dates could fill up. I would look around on the GMAC website and see if dates have started to fill closer to that June 5th deadline and make a decision.
You always have the option of taking a date and paying yoru $250, and if your some reason you don't use it, you will get $80 refund if you cancel early enough. I would recommend that you do this method b/c it will give you a start to your studies and date to put on your calendar as G-Day. If you REALLY plan on taking the test, then why don't you just book the date early.
I've heard of people waiting till last minute to book their test, and then realize the day they wanted is filled, and had to travel for the test or push it back. I took my test around August/November (GMAT season) and i booked it 9 weeks in advance. There were already days filled b/c people wanted to avoid thanksgiving, christmas, new years, and still make R1 & R2 deadlines.

There are openings for June 1st Friday. My question is if I started back on March 15th how much prep do I need per day. I want to know how much time I would need on average (more time on weekends than on week days) so that I can see if I can make it on June 1st with my work schedule.
