Thanks guys for the reassuring. I've plenty of time (thinking of attending in Fall '15), but obviously there is still opportunity cost of studying to retake (could be reading, networking, spending $250 elsewhere, etc). However, there's no question in my mind that the 760+ (and Q49+) is within reach.

BB, a 99th percentile score is cool! That definitely is a factor. Also, meant to mention that my GPA is mildly below the top-school average, and therefore, it seems that a 760+ will help offset any concerns there. Is that logical?

Sounds like you have time.

The main drawback would be $250 and whatever else you may spend on materials.

Ps. 99th percentile help with other things too though I was never able to leverage it. The most value I got from it was a co worker who having found out about it became amazed at it (I guess he never thought I put effort into anything based on his observations of my engagement at work. LOL).

You are bond!

I wish we could swap scores as you are planning a retake anyhow :-D

I took a long vacation and didn't think about the GMAT, but got back and received my official score which came in with a 6 on the essay and an 8 on the IR. It's probably not worth the effort, but I'm going to spend about a month sorting to-do things that have built up, and then jump back into the GMAT with a couple weeks of refresher and then ~4-6 weeks of hardcore advanced quant studying. Not going to study verbal at all other than GMAT Prep, so I'll need some better luck on that one. Assuming the plan works, 99th percentile here we come.

That is an awesome score! Congrats!

My opinion is that it's great that you're ambitious to score even higher for your own personal achievements, however, I doubt it will make a drastic difference in your application.

Question for you: what did you do to do so well on verbal?! How long did you spend preparing for the GMAT overall?

Good luck to you on your goal!
