Suggest which coaching centere good in Bnagalore

Question

Hi I am looking for good institute in bangalore for GMAt Preparation.I am staying at BTM Layout.I saw many reviews and i am totally confused.
can anyone suggest me which institutre will be good.I am an average student.I am new for GMAT.

Hello Rich, indeed what a coincidence! I just noticed that the original poster made the post on 11th August 2013, while I made a post on 11th August 2015! I have actually been reading "about GMAT", but have not really started any earnest preparation. Since I am in Bangalore and was specifically looking for classroom coaching, I was hoping I could benefit from the experience of the original poster

Hi PrijitDebnath , There are not much options available for a classroom training in bangalore. You have Crack Verbal, Jamboree, Manya- From The Princeton Review. You can look at the reviews on the gmat club review or in the google. But there are lot of online/ on demand classes available which will benefit you to learn wherever you are or whenever you want. Provided you have the internet connections. EmpowerGMAT, E-Gmat, Veritas Prep, Magoosh, Kaplan, GMATpill and many more. It's upto you to choose which testprep company you would choose. Also, in the standardised tests like GMAT, it will be your self motivation will help you get the target score. Nonetheless, the testprep can give you an idea/ show the way to how to do it. It's not that signing up for any test prep guarantee the top score. Hope it helps

Since it sounds like you're in a 'research' phase, you've come to a great source for information. When considering the various ways that you can prepare for the GMAT, you'll really want to investigate the options thoroughly. Most GMAT Companies offer some type of free materials (practice problems, Trial Accounts, videos, etc.) that you can use to 'test out' a product before you buy it. We have a variety of those resources at out site (www.empowergmat.com). I suggest that you take advantage of all of them, then choose the one(s) that best match your personality, timeline and budget.

As far as your overall timeline is concerned:
1) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
2) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
3) Do you know which Schools you plan to apply to?

Thanks for your post Rich. I feel I am already late for this admissions cycle, so I am looking at applying only next year. So, I do have time at hand.

While I do have some schools in mind, but I know that my choice of b-school has to actually depend upon how much score I eventually get. So, I am not thinking about it right now; once I clear GMAT, I will give this more serious thought, though I am hoping that I get more than 700, because that seems to be now almost a minimum that one should get, to target any decent school..

Hi PrijitDebnath,

By planning this far ahead, you've given yourself plenty of time to study (and can do that study at your own pace), which is good. Many Test Takers spend 3 months (or more) of consistent study time before they take the GMAT. During that time, it's common to spend 10-15 hours per week (or more) on the process. So training to face the GMAT is a big task, but it can be broken down into small pieces.

So the next question is when you think you'll have to necessary 'block' of time to study for the GMAT on a consistent basis. If you think that you will begin sometime soon, then we can talk through some of the common 'early' steps that many Test Takers go through as part of working through a larger study plan.

Hi PrijitDebnath,

When in the early stages of your studies, it's a good idea to take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test; you can download 2 for free from www.mba.com (and they come with some additional practice materials). A FULL CAT takes about 4 hours to complete, so make sure that you've set aside enough time to take it in one sitting. If you want to spend a little time familiarizing yourself with the content and question types that appear on the GMAT before you take this CAT, then that's fine - but you shouldn't wait too long to take that first CAT. Once you have those scores, you should report back here and we can come up with a study plan.

Training for the GMAT is similar to having a part-time job, so you have to plan for that study time (and build it into your schedule). You don't have to study every day, but doing your studying in small 'chunks' throughout the week is preferable to just 'cramming' on the weekends.
