Hi,

Today I have done my first mock test and I got score 360.

Quantitative: 23
Problem solving: 12 answers wrong;
Data suff.: 5 answers wrong.

Verbal: 17
Reading comp.:4 wrong;
Critical reasoning: 6 wrong;
Sentence correction: 10 wrong

Integrated Reasoning: 5

First of all, what could you recommend me guys? What is your first though after reading my post? what would you recommend me?

Now I'll tell you my plan, please tell me if it might be improved or if it's ok:
I plan to do my gmat in the end of July.
I can study well only on the week ends. During the week I might study just 1/2 hours every 2 days so my plan is the following:
Because I have a big lack in math, I am planning to focus on that(I bought mgmat foundations of math and I want to finish it).
After I will finish mgmat book, I will focus on quantitative problems in order to see if I have improved (I hope so).
Then, pass to the next session (I mean, verbal)... and keeping in this way...

At the same time, I would like to attend (this month) a private lesson as well, in order to learn the basis of how to approach to gmat problems and stuff like that, and then, 6 weeks before the exam, I would like to attend another course to refine my skills....

What do you think about?

I think you need to double down on the basics. Get some really basic books like McGraw hill's Conquering books and start working through them.

Hello! I went thru your debrief. What surprised me was that you did not seem to have a good experience with McGraw Hill's books, but still you have recommended them. Are they still good for basics?

It sounds like English is your second language. That is an advantage in sentence correction. Just don't fall into the trap of what "sounds right". Take a pencil and run it vertically across the answer choices. Notice the differences in each answer choice as you come across them. Those differences will give you a decision point. For example: 3 answers say "The giraffes are orange" and 2 answers say "The giraffes is Orange" Is giraffes plural or singular? Once you have made your decision, cross off the wrong answers and then continue moving your pencil to the next difference in the answer choices. Rinse and Repeat

Sure. I was looking for a high end score from the very beginning and the mc graw books weren't strong enough for me. However in your case it seems that you need to get up to speed with the basics first so those books might be useful.

Do understand that I cited them as examples because they are the only basics books that I know of. You can use any resources of your choice to work on your basics. My advice to work hard on the basics remains unchanged.
