Hi guys,
I recently took my GMAT Prep test (and after thoroughly reviewing it) I got very surprised with my Quant score...
I obviously know that there is no correlation in the number of correct answers and the score. As the Manhattan folks state in their Guide 0- Roadmap, "a 490 scorer and a 720 scorer can miss the same number of questions". Anyway, I always thought that unless you are a top scorer, you will always get around 55%-60% of questions correct.
In the quant section of today´s test, I got 29/37 correct (just 8 incorrect), which could be translated into a 78% accuracy, and GOT A MISERABLE Q42. Please note the following:
- In the first 10 questions, I got 8/10 correct.
- In the first 15 questions, I got 10/15 correct.
- I never got more than 2 incorrect answers in a row.
- I finished the section in the alloted time.
It felt like even though I was getting questions correct, those were always 600s questions. And although in 2 opportunities I got 7 questions correct in a row, it felt like Gmat Prep never wanted to take me to the 700 arena (I must have received around 2 or 3 700-questions in the whole section...)
The only reasonable explanation I can come up with is that I made silly mistakes in questions #2 and #8. They were 500 and 600 questions respectively and I got them wrong. But still... it feels like Gmat Prep never forgave me for those mistakes.
After achieving Q51 in
Gmat Club tests (which are way harder than Gmat Prep), I thought my true level was around Q48...
This has really stumped me. Any insight is very appreciated!!
Thanks a lot!
