Hi everybody,
Is there someone who can provide me some feedback on my writing of issue
As people rely more and more on technology to solve problems, the ability of humans to think for themselves will surely deteriorate. The issue address, reduction in thinking ability with the introduction of technology to solve problem, which I think is not appropriate to say.
I can give one specific example in fluid engineering field; all problems are modeled by using Navier-Stokes equation, which is complex partial differential equation, by introduction of some numerical solver we can save time and also analyze complex phenomenon and problems. In these applications, introduction of technology to solve problems, saved a lot of time which can be further utilized in thinking of physics and on analyzing more complex physics based problems.
The reduction in thinking ability is also noted in certain aspects, where user completely dependent on these software’s and not having proper understanding of what is happening inside. This type of behavior varies from person to person. To tackle these kind of problems, we should encourage people to have better understanding of what is happening inside software’s and also what is the limitation of that particular software’s.
Our ability to solve more challenging problems increased with the introduction of technologies, for ex. In earlier days all research was usually conducted with the help of experiments only but now a days the numerical simulations are used to perform to optimize the experiment parameters and also setup design and also useful in doing some preliminary research. With the help of this transition, we are able to save a lot of time and resources which can be further allocated to carry out some other work.
Another specific example, Stephen hawking, astrophysicist at Cambridge university, is able to invest his more time on thinking and solving complex black holes problems, in spite of having physical disabilities, just with the help of technologies for ex, his voice recorder to communicate with others.
The reduction in thinking ability if it’s there in some specific cases is not only because of introduction of technology to solve problem but because of complete dependency on these technologies.
