I started studying for the gmat around 45 days ago, however, for PS I had prepared last year itself but had put my MBA plans on hold.
I am still 65 days from the exam and this is where I stand:
Quant
1. PS - solved OG and Quant Review with 90% accuracy in timed conditions
2. DS - solved OG with 80% accuracy under times questions (oddly, I struggled with the easier/moderate questions and did better on the harder questions; yes there was a learning curve)
I also went through the
MGMAT guides and solved all the questions; i keep going through the content once every 2 weeks.
I am concerned that the lessons I've learnt about not falling for DS tricks might not be as fresh in 2 months' time. Read an article by bb on how to review errors and will start documenting my mistakes and learnings from now onwards.
Verbal
RC - this is more or less under control. I didn't maintain an
error log for this but get a good percentage right; again under timed conditions
SC - really struggled here hence started mugging the
MGMAT rules; I still have half of the OG questions to go but accuracy has improved from 50% to 90% (this was by going through the
MGMAT rules and my notes again and again and again)
CR - now this is where I struggle; Ive completed 75% of the OG questions with 80% accuracy under timed conditions. But I don't feel that I am ready; have signed up for e-Gmat to address this.
Verbal is still a challenge; i just know it. I don't want to judge my proficiency currently since the harder questions, which come later, are yet to be covered.
My plan is to now do 1
MGMAT or GMAT Prep test a week and spend the rest of the time (1) covering e-GMAT content for verbal, (2) reviewing mistakes for both quant and verbal (3) to stay in touch with quant solve 20-25 questions across PS and DS everyday/every other day with a focus on the topics I still struggle at. Also considering practicing the 700 level questions on GMAT club.
So what is my issue? Ive never studied this much for a test; I've always been a last minute rusher - from high school to uni; this is unknown territory for me. I'd like some feedback on my study plan.
I don't want to burn out yet at the same time I don't wanna be in a situation where I am not in the rhythm by the time D day arrives. How do I 'see it through' till the end without doing too much to hate solving questions or doing too little to be out of sync with what I've learnt. My target is a 720 +.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
