Thanks for replying , actually i have already made up mind to retake the test.
Since my deadlines are in the first week of Jan and if i retake the exam by 11th then it will take another 10 days for the score to reach the respective universities.
Though all the universities that I am applying to have mentioned on their site that I can submit the scores after submitting the app, but i am just wondering will they actually wait for 10 more days or my application will be shifted to another round?

It really depends on your situation.

One of our students was in a similar situation - but he waited until he was waitlisted by the school to make the decision to retake the test. In his case, his score was actually pretty high at 690 -- but the score itself was lopsided with a really high quant score and a relatively low verbal score.

He then signed up with us and retook the exam -- blowing past his expectations with a 760.

Not only did he get OFF the waitlist, but he was awarded a half-tuition scholarship: https://www.gmatpill.com/the-gmat-pill-m ... l-student/

In your case, if you might have a shot -- meaning if your score is within range, but might be lop-sided -- then I'd say wait until you hear back.

If you feel your entire application isn't quite where it needs to be and your score is also on the low side / not in range -- then definitely retake.

Hi amyjohn,

One of the reasons why the Applications Rounds for each Business School are so "spread out" is because it takes months to properly review and evaluate all of the applications that come in. If a Business School representative tells you that it's okay to send in your GMAT score a little "late" (after the application deadline), then that person is telling you the truth. Keep in mind that you're still responsible to get the rest of your application in on time. If you don't think that you can put together a great overall application in the time remaining before the deadline, then you should consider pushing back to a later Round (or applying next year).
