Hi gauravmishra132,
Scoring a 690 on your first practice CAT is impressive (the average on the Official GMAT is right around 540-550 most years). To make sure that this score is an accurate measure of your ability, I'd like to know a few things about how you took this CAT:
1) Did you take the ENTIRE CAT (including the Essay and IR sections)?
2) Is this the first time you took this CAT?
3) Have you seen any of the questions before?
4) What "brand" of CAT is it?
Before I offer any suggestions on how you can improve, I'd also like to know how you've been studying so far:
A) How long have you been studying?
B) What resources have you been using (books, Courses, etc.)?
As a next step, it would be a good idea for you to do a full review of this CAT and try to figure out WHY you were getting questions wrong. How often was it due to a silly mistake? How often was it do to a lack of knowledge (e.g. an unknown grammar rule/idiom)? How often was it because the question was just too hard? Since most of your missing points are going to be found in the Verbal section, another question to ask is "how often did you narrow the answers down to 2 choices, then 'guess wrong'?"
The Verbal section of the GMAT is just as predictable and standardized as the Quant section is, so you CAN train to score at a higher level.
GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
