You can practice with a legal pad to approximate the feel of the GMAT notepad.

Many people like to write down notes/timing benchmarks on their scratch pads between each section of the exam. Be aware that you are NOT allowed to set-up your scratch pad before a section officially starts. However, you can use the 1-minute instructions time (when the section’s instructions are shown on the screen) for pad set-up.

Taking the test soon and was wondering what they give you to write on. is it computer paper? lined paper?

The one thing I did last time I took the test is to make sure you use the pad wisely. Use up as much space as you can so you are not worrying about trading your pad for another, messes with your brain and train of thought.

If you realize you have 1 page left before you run out, raise your PAD up while you are reading a certain question, they will know what to do.

Also, MOVE the mouse and Keypad to maximize space.
