Warning : personal venting included in the post.
So I just heard the news regarding upcoming changes about canceling and scheduling tests. Overall, I am happy to see the changes as it will benefit future test takers, but I cant stop feeling like GMAC could have handled this better than it had, especially when it comes to communicating with test takers.
I recently took my GMAT on 6/30, and unfortunately I got a lower score than my last attempt. I did not want to see C, cancelled written on my score report like everyone else so I had no choice but to accept it.
Well 2 days later, I found out that the cancelled scores will no longer appear on score reports, and I heard this news not through an email from GMAC or test administrators, but from internet blog purely by accident, including GMAT club forum, and I realized that this was announced a week before my test date.
Please do let me know if other test takers have been notified of such changes directly from GMAC - may be it was fault on my part missing emails or something, but I am confident that until now I have not heard or received anything from GMAC regarding such changes. In fact, in some part of the mba.com website it STILL shows grandpa-old policy, "once you see the score, it can't be canceled".....really shows how careless GMAC is.
Had I known this change would come at the first place, I would have entirely different pre and post test taking strategies. How is it that GMAC didn't even care to send an email announcing this critical and important change to test takers? GMAC could have at least told test center employees to notify test takers on the test day.
I feel that this is extremely unfair towards test takers who should have rights to be informed of upcoming changes that could seriously affect their strategies.
Sorry I know that I am venting, but I feel like I should have rights to know what's coming and be notified, not by me manually searching and clicking a blog, but by GMAC communicating with test takers in a timely manner.
Now, off to do some more quant questions.....(sigh)
